SEA Games: Malaysia beats Vietnam 1-0 in final

(The Star)-Malaysia won the SEA Games football gold after a 20-year lapse when it beat favourites Vietnam 1-0 in the final at the Main Stadium of the National Sports Complex here on Thursday.
The Under-23 side took the game to the Vietnamese in the second half after seeing Vietnam dominate the match in the first 45 minutes.
Malaysia who beat Laos 3-1 in the semi-final had faced an in-form Vietnam who beat Singapore 4-1 in the other semi-final.
The final was the second meeting between the two teams as Vietnam had beaten Malaysia 3-1 in their group match.
